National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is celebrated annually on October 31st to honor the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India. Known as the “Iron Man of India,” Sardar Patel played a crucial role in unifying the country after independence. The first National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed on October 31, 2014,

National Unity Day serves as a reminder of Patel’s efforts to integrate over 500 princely states into the Indian Union, fostering a spirit of unity and integrity among the diverse population of India. The day promotes national integration and celebrates the values of unity, peace, and harmony.
